The article itself (now?) inserts the word “auction” which makes the headline clear, but it appears in RSS feeds and in the BBC’s “Most Popular” list as “Corrie cat’s ashes smash target”. Also in this BBC Twitter post:

I was wondering why people wanted to smash the urn containing the ashes of this cat from a soap opera, i.e. why it was such a smash target?
I would have been wondering more what the target was, and how a cat’s ashes managed to smash it (maybe someone threw the containing urn at the target?)
